It seems to be the calm before the storm right now. We are continuing to work on getting the Task Force established, which has taken both Cameron and I through a steep learning curve to take on new responsibilities in accounting, contract writing, and general business management. It is a slow and tedious process but we are getting there. There are 3 options right now as to how to move forward. Please pray with us that we would walk down the right path and that the potential partners would grant us favor.
Planning for the Do You Know Lacy training continues. There is still a lot of need for volunteers in order to pull this day off and we are promoting it big time to get the desired 300 people to attend.
We will be speaking at Oikos Fellowship this Sunday, October 2nd and will have information availabe at Redeemer Church the next 2 Sundays. Hopefully there will be a lot of interest and new support.
So, other than these two ongoing projects Cameron and I are both really trying to remember and function from the understanding that it is not US doing this work but the Lord. It is sometimes hard when things get so busy and demanding but we need to continue handing over decisions, stress, and uncertainty to Him knowing that He has called us to this; to work for justice in our community. There is something much larger happening here than what we see daily. For that we are thankful.
The story of Lydia and the slave girl in Acts has been in the front of our minds. Recognizing that Paul and Silas were just being faithful to the call on their lives and God did what HE wanted to do.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
The Meyers
