Hello Friends and family!
So we have some victories and good news to report. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. First, the Bridges Anti-Trafficking Coalition is now officially a project branch of Northwest Family Life: www.nwfamilylife.org
Through them we can do fundraising, accept funds, and use those funds to participate in and put on the events coming up in the next few months. They are an amazing organization doing great work in the Seattle area. This arrangement will give us a year to get our incorporation paperwork in and 2 years to become fully independent.
If you would like to donate, you may send a check to
NORTHWEST FAMILY LIFE
11320 Roosevelt Way NE
Seattle, WA 98125
Indicate the you would like the donation to go to the Bridges Anti Trafficking Coalition and they will send the funds to us! You may also donate online via PayPal. Thank YOU!
The events coming up are:
A Movie Screening at the Lincoln Theater in Mt. Vernon Washington. The video is called:
"Call and Response" www.callandresponse.com
We will have an info table and this will be a great opportunity to get to know the work that's being done in the King, Skagit, and Whatcom counties in regard to Human Trafficking!
The other event that we are gearing up for is on November 3rd and is a community training we will co-host with Shared Hope International. This will really be a kick off for the organization and hopefully will open up great places for people who are interested in volunteering to join in this work. We pray!
For both of these we will need funds. Currently, we are receiving support from a business in town which will help to host the training. More is needed.
Could you please pray for:
-Protection and freedom for victims who are currently trapped in trafficking situations.
-Courage and opportunity for victims to speak up and reach out for help.
-Continued favor with those community officials who have the authority to make policy decisions.
-The first meeting of the Task Force, on August 16th
-Funding to come in for operations costs of this organizations, and the training so that we can host the training in November.
-Unity and vision for the struggle against this injustice in our community. That people working against it would be brought together.
-Praise that there is another organization in town focusing on awareness raising, especially within the churches: Access Freedom, http://accessfreedom.org/Access_Freedom/Welcome.html
Thank you for taking the time to read this. We really will attempt to keep it more current as the pace of public work speeds up this fall.
I'm so proud of you guys and SO excited about how things are coming together. :-)
